Live at Leeds (In the City) - The ones to watch

With this years edition of Live at Leeds (in the city) taking place this weekend, here are a few acts we think you might want to check out!

Final advanced tickets can be found via the festivals website www.liveatleeds.com

Cowboyy - Belgrave Music Hall - 14:00

Cowboyy are an alternative three-piece who burst onto the scene in 2022 with their debut single “Gmaps”.

Their set at Belgrave Music Hall is set to be a great way to start your day at this years Live at Leeds.

Keg - Leeds Beckett - 14:45

7 Piece group Keg will take to Leeds Beckett’s Main stage bringing their experimental pop/post-punk sound to the masses. Named as one of DIY Magazine’s Class of 2023, the Brighton band are sure to put on an amazing show.

The latest single “Quip Quash” is a great introduction to what you can expect from the band.

The Dream Machine - Leeds Beckett (2nd Stage) - 16:45

I’ve had the pleasure of catching The Dream Machine a few times over the past year or so, and it’s safe to say, they are one of my favourite bands at the moment. Their debut album, “Thank God! It’s the Dream Machine…” was released in April of this year, and showcases the wide range that the Liverpool four-piece can achieve together.

Home Counties - Oporto - 17:00

One of the best bands around on the “post-punk” scene at the moment, Home Counties will play at Oporto. Their witty, playful tracks will definitely be one to make your festival day that bit better.

If you’re a fan of bands like Parquet Courts, Squid, and Television, you’ll love Home Counties!

Hamish Hawk - Leeds Beckett - 17:15

Hamish Hawk is quickly becoming a festival veteran at this point, seemingly playing every event I’ve been to in the past year, but that’s definitely not a bad thing. Having seen him more times than I care to count in the past year, I am far from bored.

Hamish is a born frontman, the live shows are impeccable, and the songwriting ability is there to match. His latest album “Angel Numbers” has been nominated for this year’s Scottish Album of the Year Award, alongside heavy hitters like Paolo Nutini and Young Fathers. So take your chance now, and go see him while you can still get a ticket!

Lime Garden - Oporto - 20:00

Brighton four-piece Lime Garden have been one of my most listened-to band of the past year, with each song they release seeming to somehow get better than its already phenomenal previous.

With brilliant tracks, energetic live shows, and world domination coming quick, you should definitely make the effort to go see them sooner rather than later!

Wunderhorse - Leeds Beckett - 20:15

If you haven’t heard of Wunderhorse before, where have you been hiding for the past year? Just over a year since the group released their debut Album “Cub”, the band play Leeds Beckett’s Main Stage.

The group, front manned by Jacob Slater, are known for their gritty, sometimes tense songwriting abilities, with their debut becoming an instant classic for many.

With a year of sell-out shows throughout the UK and further afield, you might want to get down early for this one!
