2024 marked yet another incredible year for Get Together.
This year's edition saw an incredible roster of acts take to one of the festival's 8 stages situated in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield. Headliner CMAT was joined by familiar names such as Gruff Rhys, The Bug Club, and Porij, as well as some lesser-known names which have since become new favourites!
Below are a selection of some of my favourite sets from this year's edition.
GANS
I only became familiar with Gans last week, when I saw them support Big Special at the Key Club in Leeds, and it's safe to say, they have quickly become one of my new favourite acts. The Birmingham based duo took to the Purity Stage situated at Yellow Arch Studios for a jam-packed 30 minute set which seemed to blow everyone in attendance away, including this year's headliner, CMAT, who later told me how much she enjoyed Euan and Thomas's set.
You can catch Gans at both Live at Leeds in The City, and Neighbourhood Festival later this year, or at their own Headline show in Birmingham on the 11th of October. TICKETS
FEMUR
Another recommendation from CMAT, Femur, delivered an extremely entertaining set to a packed-out crowd, with lead singer Felix willingly making the odd trip out to see festival attendees having to enjoy the band from outside the room itself.
Femur are a band with an impressive stage presence and a sound to match, constantly breaking the wall between themselves and the crowd, seemingly chaotic at times, but that just adds to it, it works.
GOOD NEIGHBOURS
You might already be familiar with Good Neighbours from their 2024 single "Home" recently becoming a viral sensation on Tik Tok, amassing a staggering 180,000,000 streams on spotify alone, yes, 180 million! But the british duo made up of Oli Fox and Scott Verill proved they're far from one-hit wonders during their time at Get Together, The packed out room was treated to a short but sweet set of big, atmospheric tunes, building excitement for what will come from the group next.
CMAT
CMAT is no stranger to Get Together, having also played the main stage last year, but this time she returned for a well-deserved headline appearance.
Having just played her biggest headline show to date at Kentish Town Forum on Thursday, CMAT, her band, and the endless amount of adoring fans packed into Peddlar Warehouse where on top form. A set made up of songs from Both last years album release, Crazymad, For Me, and debut album If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, alongside brand new single Aw, Shoot!, and a Kate Bush Cover sprinkled in for good measure made for an unforgettable performance.
